become an au-pair application form

Please read the terms and conditions of our au-pair study programme before you complete this application form. We will contact you to arrange a Zoom interview to answer your questions.

Our au-pairs come to Ireland on English language study programmes for 2 - 12 months. Please tell us how long you would like to be an au-pair and when you can start.

Good to know:

Our au-pairs must attend 3-6 hours of English classes per week on either two mornings (Mondays and Wednesdays OR Tuesdays and Thursdays 10.00-13.15) OR two evenings (Mondays and Wednesdays OR Tuesdays and Thursdays 17.30-19.00 or 19.00-20.30. Please tell us about your current English level and why you need to improve it.

Our au-pairs stay with families in Dundalk and in other towns in Co Louth, Co Meath and Co Monaghan. Dundalk is one hour from Dublin and one hour from Belfast.

Good to know:

You need to bring a European Health Insurance card or the equivalent in your country with you when you come to Ireland. If you don’t have it, you will have to pay for medical treatment here.

Our au-pairs look after their host family children for 20-30 hours per week. They receive pocket money from their host family plus food and accommodation. Under Irish law, host families must pay their au-pairs minimum wage (€11.30 per hour) and can deduct approximately €1 per hour worked for food and €25 per week for accommodation. An au-pair who works 30 hours per week will receive €285, an au-pair who works 25 hours per week will receive €235 and an au-pair who works 20 hours a week will receive €180. Please tell us about your experience.
