Getting Kids Into Languages (Dept of Education approved)

Good to know:

Getting Kids Into Languages is a 20-hour face-to-face course aimed at primary teachers who would like to teach a modern foreign language in their primary school or prepare for the introduction of modern foreign languages at stage 3 and 4 of the primary education curriculum. Very basic knowledge of Spanish, French or German would be advantageous although not essential.

Our Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages course is ideal for primary or secondary teachers who are contemplating teaching English as an additional language and would like a general overview of what’s involved. This 20-hour, face-to-face course includes theories of second and subsequent language acquisition, the CEFR, a guide to English grammar, CLIL, lesson planning, giving effective feedback to students and finding teaching opportunities.

Want to get your teenagers speaking the language? This 20-hour face-to-face course is aimed at secondary school teachers who would like to explore how teenagers acquire, retain and retrieve second and subsequent languages, and to share approaches and ideas for getting their teens to speak more Spanish, French or German in their classrooms. Participants should have some experience of teaching Spanish, French or German.
